Hey everyone meet Carleigh!

We had the pleasure of reconnecting with a recent grad Carleigh. Since we last spoke, she’s graduated, passed both exams, obtained her license and along with her BFF Kyle she has started working at Kem’s Looking Glass.

She without a doubt misses her teachers at ESI Durham. According to her “It was always such a comforting feeling knowing that they are there to give a second opinion when it’s needed & review the things with us that we could do differently next time to better benefit us as we learn. Not having them there has definitely helped me to gain more independence- which is something I have known for a while that I needed to work on as a stylist!” On top of that she did say that she misses is the window seats at Elevate.. “As funny as that sounds, I really did love being able to see Downtown Durham “in action” at all times. Definitely one of my favorite characteristics about the school is alllll the windows! 🙌”

She is a constant learner and always seeks out education. ”I’m SO pumped to learn, grow, and take all the education classes! That’s what this career is about.”

Carleigh loves blonding & just color in general. “It’s so intriguing and just makes so much sense to me.” Her focus is ALL ABOUT her husband, family, and friends. Nothing makes her more happy than being with all her favorite people & constantly figuring out times to be with them.

When asked about what this license means to her she was overwhelmed with joy. “It’s amazing to me how this one license can be used to do so many different things! For me, I think I will use it to focus on all things hair. Being a licensed cosmetologist means having the opportunity everyday to make people feel loved, beautiful, and heard. My heart gets so full just thinking about all the people I will hopefully be able to be there for in all the years to come and all the friendships I hope to create with my clients.”
