Meet our Morning and Afternoon Esthetics Instructors
Since the last we spoke the Elevate family has grown with the addition of 2 rock-star Esthetics instructors – Danielle Knockum and Angel Charles. At Elevate we are always looking for ways to build up and push our students to be the best they can be and having the best instructors around is the number 1 priority to fulfill that. Both Angel and Danielle complete that requirement. Our family is lucky to have them help us shape the lives and careers of our future professionals.
Michelle, our admissions lead, spent a few moments with them recently and thought she would share a glimpse into who they each are:
Michelle: Why did you choose the industry and then choose to teach in it?
Danielle: I chose this industry as a second career because of the creativity and the flexibility this industry offers. As a wife and mother to a 4 year old this industry allows for me to both an an entrepreneur and a mother easily. I choose to teach because I have grown to be a life learner.
Angel: I have been in love with this industry since a child. Both of my parents are a part of this industry so it just came naturally. The main reason I decided to teach came when I was working in a shop. I was able to give the client exactly what he wanted as well as encourage and build him up at the same time. I received a $100 tip at the end of this service, the client also informed me he was in town for his fathers funeral. I wanted the students to know they possess more than just a technical skill. Also, let them know they have the power not only to change someone’s appearance but also the way they feel.
Michelle: What do you love most about the industry?
Danielle: I love the idea that I can bring my experience and expertise to the industry and share what I know to other young women and help them become great Esthetican’s in the field of Esthetics.
Angel: One thing I love most about this industry is the ability to be yourself. Feel comfortable in your own skin and it’s ok to be different. There’s more than one way to get to Walmart! The technique will always be the same same but the style on which we do whatever it is may be different. And that’s ok.
Michelle: What’s your favorite hobby?
Danielle: My absolute favorite thing to do is to travel. My favorite traveling destination to date has been Aruba 🇦🇼.
Angel: My favorite hobby is organizing.
