Pick up some cool summer gear and support a great cause. From June 1st to August 1st we will be selling a fun and versatile summer stretchy scarf or “buff” like the ones you’ve seen on the tv show Survivor. They can be worn more than a dozen different ways and are the perfect summer accessory! They only cost $5 and all of the proceeds from your purchase go toward support of Step Up Durham. Get them for you, a friend, and the kids and know that you are doing your part to support a great cause.

Some might be dreading the incoming winter, but there’s no denying that colder temperatures will be here sooner than we think. With the colder season coming up, many are wondering what that means for their hair. One thing all of us are grateful for here in NC is the decreased humidity that comes with the lower temperatures. Of course, that doesn’t mean that humidity is gone completely and now we have to worry about the potential damaging effects the cold air could have on our hair. Don’t worry! Here at Elevate Salon Institute (ESI), Durham, we want to make sure that people are caring properly for their hair in all seasons. Here are five ways you can protect your hair from this upcoming winter.

Ah, Halloween is coming, but of course, you knew that already, September and October are the definition of sensory overload. You can’t walk into a store without seeing piles of decorations, candy, and haunted house promos, and every breath of fresh air you take, it seems, is laced with pumpkin spice and the cheap fabric from the (wayyy too expensive) costume you ordered on Amazon.
To us over here at Elevate Salon Institute, Durham, though, the sights and smells are much different. We see stacks of makeup brushes, hair products, and selfies on the salon floor, all complemented by the ever present scent of a beauty salon (you know which one we’re talking about).
